The Prosecutor-General’s Office, Security Service of Ukraine, and the Internal Affairs Ministry officers have detained 12 staff of the disbanded special force Berkut on suspicion of execution of people in Instytutska Street in Kyiv on February 20, PGO press secretary Vasyl Zaria has told Ukrainian News Agency.
“Latest information as of April 3 morning – 12 Berkut men detained,” he said.
Among them is commander of the so called Berkut “black company,” directly involved in the execution of protesters.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on April 2 evening acting Prosecutor General Oleh Makhnytskyi said three staff of the Berkut Kyiv special company had been detained, and with six more they were conducting investigatory actions.
Data from the PGO, the snipers who were shooting at people from Hotel Ukraina are from this very Berkut’s “black company.”
