Kyivskyi Metropoliten Closes One Of Two Entrances At Chervonyi Khutir Subway …

Kyivskyi Metropoliten, the municipal enterprise that operates the Kyiv subway system, has closed one of the two entrances to the Chervonyi Khutir subway station because of a low passenger flow.

A representative of Kyivskyi Metropoliten disclosed this to Ukrainian News.

“One of the exits has been closed because of a small passenger flow. One will serve as the entrance and exit,” the representative said.

In addition, the representative said that the ticket office at the subway station is closed in the evenings, when tokens can be purchased at the control point.

“Sale of tokens at ticket office is abolished only in the evenings. The ticket office operates during the day. This is connected with the small number of passengers – it makes no sense to keep people. The ticket office operates during the day and the clerk moves to the control at night, and tokens can be bought there,” said the representative.

According to him, this is not a new practice – similar measures are implemented at subway stations with small numbers of passengers.

He emphasized that the subway station has not stopped operation.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv subway system was opened in 1960. It consists of three lines, on which 50 subway stations are located.
