Kyivenergo switches to direct heat and hot water contracts with 80% of consumers
Kyiv, October 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC Kyivenergo has switched to direct contracts on central heating and hot water supply services with 80% of its customers (about 8,000 residential buildings), director for legal support at the company Olha Iyevleva has said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
“We are making every effort so that Kyiv residents could have direct contractual relations with heat suppliers. But a number of Kyiv associations of multi-apartment block co-owners and housing cooperatives ignore the requirements of the current legislation and prevent the execution of contracts, trying behind the back of people to include their own profit in tariffs for heat and hot water supply,” she said.
The expert clarified that about 700 associations and housing cooperatives have not decided on the supplier of heat for their houses, another 140 prevent the signing of direct contracts, trying to make profit for themselves.
As reported, according to law No. 1198-VII dated April 10, Kyivenergo from July 1, 2014 is the supplier of heating and hot water supply services and will transfer to direct contracts with consumers.
