Kyiv Underground Reduces Train Time Intervals, Extends Operation To 1AM …

Kyiv Underground communal enterprise has reduced time intervals of train movements and extended underground railway operating hours by one hour to 1am over foul weather, reads a statement made by the Kyiv Municipal State Administration’s press service.

“Owing to weather problems, caused by heavy snowfalls that paralysed overland urban traffic, have decided to reduced time intervals of movements of the Kyiv underground railway system trains to provide proper conditions for carriage of passengers,” the press service quotes Oleksandr Mazurchak, a deputy chairman of the Kyiv Municipal State Administration as saying.

Herewith, they passed a decision to add rolling stock on the underground lines.

Mazurchak notes, at the moment one of the chief tasks of all city services is clearing passes to the metro stations.

Moreover, Oleksandr Popov, chairman of the Kyiv Municipal State Administration has issued an order to prolong work hours of the metropolitan underground by one hour to 1am to ensure proper conditions for carriage of passengers.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, 381 urban areas in 13 provinces were remaining without power supply on March 22-23 because of bad weather.

On March 21, Kyivavtodor communal corporation declared preparedness for deterioration of weather conditions on March 22-23.
