Kyiv To Develop Camping Site On Trukhaniv Island For Tourists …

Kyiv city state administration has declared the intention to develop the camping site on Trukhaniv Island for tourists after the European Football Championship 2012, Anatolii Holubchenko, deputy head of Kyiv city state administration, said during the live call-in in the Komsomolskaya Pravda editorial office.

“We are able to make a great place for tourists to rest there as we have a good infrastructure: water, sewerage, electricity and the beach. This is our objective for the current year,” the deputy head noted. According to Holubchenko, as soon as Sweden’s fans leave Trukhaniv Island, it will host French, German and British fans during the European Football Championship 2012 matches.

“We have received applications from French, German and British fans for putting their camp tents on the Island. Tomorrow we’ll be talking with them,” the deputy head added. However, he could not specify the total number of foreign fans who will be living on the Island as the number will be finalised after the talks.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the State Sanitary-Epidemiological Service on June 11 recognised the tend camp on Trukhaniv Island suitable for living. Kyiv city state administration opened the tent camp on the Trukhaniv Island for EURO 2012 fans on June 8.
