Kyiv Seeks Russian Gas at ‘Market Price’, Lower Than European Tariff

KYIV (Sputnik) – Kyiv is hoping to get Russian gas deliveries at a market price, but at a lower than Europeans pay, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said Tuesday.

“This will be a market price and it will be lower than the European [price],” Demchyshyn told journalists.

The Russian Energy Ministry has not confirmed the date of holding trilateral gas talks with Ukraine and the European Commission on September 25 in Brussels, a ministry spokeswoman said Tuesday.

“We are so far not confirming this,” the spokeswoman told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that Kyiv was expecting trilateral talks to take place on September 25 in Brussels.
