KYIV, August 06. /ITAR-TASS/. If Russia decides to deploy its peacekeepers to Ukraine, Kyiv will assess this step as an act of direct armed aggression, a top official in the presidential administration said on Wednesday.

“What has been stationed near the border for more than five months can hardly be called a peacekeeping contingent. So it will be regarded as direct aggression,” Gennady Zubkov, first deputy chief of staff in the presidential administration, told a news briefing.

He expressed confidence that “the international community will not by any means approve of such actions on the part of Russia”.
