Kyiv prosecutors probing National Bank abuses, not its chief

Prosecutors in Kyiv are investigating two criminal cases over abuse of office and forgery by officials of the National Bank.
These are inquiries into facts, not the NBU chief Valeriya Gontareva, Kyiv prosecutor’s office spokesperson told Interfax-Ukraine, stressing that the bank chief is not treated as a suspect. Two inquiries to the prosecutors alleged abuse of power and official negligence in the National Bank. As we have reported, over 100 lawmakers have collected signatures to dismiss the NBU Head. Four inquiries to the Security Service by a group of MPs alleged high treason and service negligence NBU top managers.
