Kyiv minister quits over ‘corruption’
Ukraine’s government was on the brink of collapse last night after the resignation of a key minister who alleged that corruption within the ruling coalition had made it impossible to do his job.
Aivaras Abromavicius, a Lithuanian-born financial specialist, was brought in as economy minister to restore international confidence in Ukraine’s pro-EU administration after the pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych was toppled in 2014.
