Kyiv inefficiently spending EU funds – EU ambassador to Ukraine
“With regard to the border with Russia. We, the EU, provided tens of millions of euro to help Ukrainian border guards. What we have got: Ukrainian guards are asking for money to buy things. And where has the EU money gone?” Tombinski said at a forum titled “From Revolution To A New Country” in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He said Ukraine needs to sort out its corruption and introduce transparency, given the inefficient use of these funds earlier.
He also said that the EU drew some conclusions out of the Ukrainian crisis and will revisit the issue of creating European armed forces.
“We think that we will be developing military cooperation between the EU countries,” Tombinski said.
