DONETSK, November 1 (RIA Novosti) – Kyiv forces and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) may hold another prisoner exchange Saturday night into Sunday morning in Donetsk, DPR officials told RIA Novosti Saturday.

“The exchange is scheduled for today’s evening or night. It will be held under the ’25 for 25′ formula. We are currently looking for a bus to transport the prisoners,” the DPR’s commission dealing with prisoner exchange issues said.

It is expected that the prisoner exchange will take place at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Donetsk. The OSCE observers will be present during the exchange.

On October 28, it was reported that the DPR’s officials had given the Ukrainian side a list of 150 imprisoned militiamen that they wanted to be returned.

An armed conflict started in Ukraine in mid-April, when Kyiv launched a military operation against independence supporters in the country’s southeastern regions.

An exchange of prisoners between independence fighters and Kyiv forces is one of the provisions of the ceasefire agreed during a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine held in Minsk on September 5, as well as a memorandum specifying the implementation of the ceasefire adopted at another meeting in Minsk on September 19.
