Ukrainian diplomats are seeking the payment of insurance compensation to the families of nine Ukrainian citizens who were killed in a road accident in Poland on July 30, 2012, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

“The Ukrainian Embassy in Poland is continuing to work out this issue with the Polish side regarding the payment of insurance compensation to the relatives of the deceased people,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He added that a Ukrainian woman who was injured in the accident returned to Ukraine on August 10.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Poland and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry are overseeing the case.

As reported, a minibus carrying ten Ukrainians, most of them residents of Ternopil region, collided with a train on a level crossing near Bratoszewice, the Lodz region of Poland, on July 30. Nine people died in the accident.
