Knauf Insulation Ukraine to start construction of new plant if construction …
Knauf Insulation Ukraine plans to construct a plant producing thermal insulation materials, dry construction mixes and gypsum in Kyiv region if the construction market grows stably.
Knauf Insulation Ukraine (Kyiv) plans to construct a plant producing thermal insulation materials, dry construction mixes and gypsum in Fastiv (Kyiv region) and is ready to start construction if the construction market grows stably, Company Director Andriy Pavlyk has told Interfax-Ukraine.
“The project for the construction of plants for the production of thermal insulation materials, dry mixes and gypsum has been temporarily suspended due to the current situation on the Ukrainian construction market. As soon as the construction market shows steady growth, we will be able to start the construction of our plant,” he said.
As reported, this concerns the construction of a plant with a capacity of 70,000 tonnes of thermal insulation materials per year on 30 hectares, investment in which will exceed EUR 100 million.
The director also noted that the company performed all of the necessary preparatory work and got all of the permits needed for the construction of the plant several years ago, but the economic crisis hit the development of the construction industry and upset the plans for the project’s implementation.
Knauf Insulation Ukraine, which specializes in the production of insulation and gypsum construction materials and is a subdivision of the Knauf international group, plans in 2012 to increase its share of the market of fiberglass insulation in Ukraine to 35%, whereas in 2010 it exceeded 30%.
Knauf Insulation Ukraine was registered in 2006 and introduced its first products to customers in 2007.
