Operatorzy muszą to uczynić dzisiaj do godziny 19:00. Komitet swoją decyzję uzasadnił troską o bezpieczeństwo informacyjne państwa. Powołał się na ustalenia Rady Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego i Obrony z 1 marca, mówiące o “niezwłocznych działaniach, które należy podjąć w celu zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa narodowego, niepodległości i jedności terytorialnej Ukrainy”. W piśmie do operatorów sieci kablowych wskazano, że przede wszystkim należy odciąć nadawanie takich rosyjskich stacji jak Wiesti, Rossija 24, ORT, RTR Planeta i NTV Mir.

Komitet poinformował też, że do południa sygnały stacji telewizyjnych z Rosji zablokowało 50 procent ukraińskich sieci kablowych.
