Kenyan students deported from Ukraine back home

Two Kenyan students were Thursday received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by family and friends after they were deported from Ukraine.

The students left the country in 2009 for a full student scholarship in Ukraine Kyiv.

However on arriving in the foreign country the scholarship which was facilitated by their local political leader turned out to be a partial scholarship contrary to their expectations.

Already seven out of the nine students with whom they travelled to Ukraine for further studies have returned home for lack of sponsorship.

Samuel Wangwi is one such student who left his CPA studies at KCA College only to end up in the streets of Kyiv where police were always on their neck.

Samuel was received by his mother and relatives at JKIA who were dejected with the sad turn of events. The scholarships are said to have been organized by a member of parliament.

This is just one of the numerous cases that continue to bedevil Kenyans looking for education and jobs in the foreign countries.
