“Good result for England… Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina et al, you’re in big trouble!” he wrote and also criticised England for their continuing failure to keep possession.
His comments came after Hodgson insisted he was happy with a point here in Kyiv’s Olympic Stadium, which sees England keep their World Cup destiny in their own hands, with Montenegro and Poland to come to Wembley next month.
Here, they rarely threatened the Ukraine goal during a messy contest that was littered with mistakes by both sides.
But Hodgson maintained the absence of key players such as Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge was responsible for the malaise.
“Am I happy with that? Yes. Especially in the first half we played well,” he said.
