IEM VI Kyiv Day 2: B3.1 aAa vs. M5
It came down to this last game for aAa to qualify for the next stage. Let’s see how it went.
against All authority bans first: Nunu/ Ryze/ Shyvana
Moscow Five bans: Rammus/ Shaco/ Karthus
against All authority picks first: Skarner/ Cassiopeia, Graves/ Riven, Taric
Moscow Five picks: Lee Sin/ Galio, Kog’Maw/ Irelia
Lanes:
Top: Riven vs Irelia
Mid: Cassiopeia vs Galio
Bot: Taric, Graves vs Sona, Kog’Maw
Jungle: Skarner vs Lee Sin
Gank by Lee Sin on the top lane but Riven got out. Skarner took on the bottom with Kog’Maw flashing away.
Skarner moved in on Sona but suddenly switched to Kog’Maw who falls but taking down Graves and Taric with the help of Lee Sin and Galio. First blood to aAa!
Lee Sin stole the blue buff while Skarner was being aggressive in the mid lane. Lee Sin gets found by Riven and Skarner who tried to take him down with his ultimate but Lee Sin got away with the help from Galio who died to aAa, score got tied by this action after 8 minutes.
Lee Sin took a dragon by himself which gave a bit of an advantage to M5.
aAa pressured M5 well at the tier 1 tower on the bottom where they managed to pick up 3 kills for 2. Irelia meanwhile chomping away bits of the top tier 1 tower but in came Skarner to stop her and as she retreated it was Riven who came in from the back helping Skarner pick up the kill as Irelia failed to flash over the wall. Score is now 6-4 in aAa’s favour.
On the mid lane Galio went down to Skarner and Cassiopeia.
First tower of the game dropped by Irelia (top tier 1 tower) while Skarner and Taric die on aAa side only killing Sona.
M5 pulled the dragon and aAa knows something happened in the area. Skarner used his ultimate on Lee Sin which did not go well. Skarner and Taric died quite fast, Irelia didn’t manage to get out and behind her tier 1 tower Cassiopeia died to Kog’Maw as well. Dragon went to M5 after this fight.
After 20 minutes the score was 9-9 and only M5 has destroyed a tower and they took all the dragons as well resulting in a 4k gold lead.
25 minute marker came up when the dragon spawned, great ultimate by Galio resulting in M5 picking up 4 champs from aAa without losing a single one of their own. They decided to leave dragon and they moved towards an easy baron. Kog’Maw found Graves in the area who got killed which lead to Kog’Maw also taking the dragon in favor of M5. This was above all the game changing moment as M5 now doubled their gold lead to 8k ahead. Kills were 9-14 and it was 1-1 in towers at that time.
Kog’Maw took down the tier 1 tower on the bottom lane.
M5 moved in the tier 1 mid tower taking it down with the help of the baron buff.
aAa pushed back now to the M5 side, suddenly Skarner flashed in picking out Lee Sin with his ultimate. Galio followed Skarner’s example and flashed over him into the main aAa pack of champions resulting in the deaths of Skarner and Taric. Irelia took the tier 2 tower on top during this fight with the tier 3 tower as a next target. In came Riven trying to stop her but the rest of M5 caught up with Irelia picking up an easy kill on Riven. Down goes the tier 3 tower as well as the inhibitor.
Gold advantage kept piling up as we could see a 15k gold advantage with Irelia picking up another dragon for M5. At that point it was 1-5 in towers 9-17 in kills and this after 32 minutes.
Baron spawned and M5 picked a fight at the baron taking down 4 members from aAa without losing anyone of their own. Baron goes to M5 as 3 champions picked it up while Irelia and Sona pushed the tier 2 tower on mid helped by their team they get the tier 3 tower as well, inhibitor blows up. M5 moved in on the nexus turrets and there was no stopping them. Nexus falls and the gg’s came out.
M5 had a hard start but after a good Galio ultimate resulting in an even better teamfight they managed to snowball after 25 minutes ensuring the victory.
