IEM VI Kyiv Day 1: Group A round-up
Coming into day 1 of the LoL tournament, most people expected 
SK Gaming and 
Team SoloMid to progress through to the knockout stages. This was the case as both teams safely qualified for the next round.
SK started the day brightly beating home team 
White Lotus without breaking too much of a sweat.
After this start they then came up against the quality of TSM and while SK gave fair account of themselves, some sloppy play led to the top ranked AD carry of TSM, Shan ‘Chaox’ Huang getting fed to a level which SK couldn’t recover from.
TSM had also started their day well with a win against fellow NA team Team Curse . These two victories ensured TSM would be the first team to qualify from the group.
White Lotus were the first casualty of the group after losing their first two matches, it was to be a tough day for them as they went on to lose all 3 games.
The deciding game of the day was between SK and Curse as they had both defeated the Ukrainians which meant the winner of the final match would be progressing.
A well fought game between both would see SK emerge on top and join TSM in the next round.
Group B starts at noon tomorrow where we will see some great teams in action hoping to join SK and TSM in the playoffs.
