IDEYE PLEDGES I’LL BE BACK AGAIN
Brown Ideye
SUPER EAGLES and Dynamo Kyiv goal-poacher, Brown Ideye, has declared that he will be willing and ready to honour Nigeria’s calls in future despite his bench role in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Liberia’s Lone Star in Monrovia.
The former youth international who has recorded 8 goals in the 8-week Ukraine Premier League and two in the UEFA Champions League play-off told SportingLife that no love was lost and he was ready to wait for his time.
“Playing from the bench is part of a footballer’s life and the question about who gets to play is purely technical and should be left at that. The guys on the pitch did well in spite of the circumstances in Monrovia and I want to assure fans that I will be prepared to give my best whenever I am called to serve again,” he said.
Speaking further, Ideye hailed the support he has enjoyed from the home front.
“My family has been the secret weapon behind my success so far in the round leather game. In fact I always strive to score to make them happy whenever I step into the pitch. I must confess that if I don’t score in a match, I’m not too happy. As a striker, the team depends on you to deliver the goals by scoring. This I pray to do when I play,” added the former Ocean Boys ace .
