Gordon: Ukraine to have new premier by New Year

Kyiv lawmaker Dmytro Gordon says Premier Arseny Yatseniuk will be dismissed by the New Year.

Odesa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili has the smoking gun of Yatseniuk’s involvement in corrupt schemes and it will be presented to Ukrainians, Gordon says.

“I know Saakashvili has the evidence and in 2 days he will show it for all Ukrainian to see what’s happening in the highest echelons of power. This evidence will make it impossible for Yatseniuk to remain in office,” Gordon says.

Yesterday’s quarrel between Yatseniuk and Saakashvili in the presence of Pres Poroshenko proves there is a democracy in Ukraine. If anyone knows about corruption on the top, he must blow the whistle and the public must react accordingly, Gordon says.

Gordon was in Georgia when Saakashvili was president and he was impressed by the effective way the reform was carried out.

“You don’t have to be a Saakashvili to see that corruption is rampant, and the country is immersed in total crime and stealth,” the lawmaker says.

“The majority of Ukrainians do not want Arseny Yatseniuk to continue in office,” he says.
