Germany vs. Italy showdown at Euro 2012 semi-final
Will it be Germany or Italy? Which team be joining Spain in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Sunday at the Euro 2012 final?
Soccer fans will know by the end of the day, as Germany and Italy face off in the semi-final, Thursday.
The Germans have waltzed through this tournament with ease, winning the strongest group without dropping a point and then easily disposing of Greece in the quarter-finals.
Italy opened the tournament with a tie against Spain — the very team they hope to face Sunday.
Since then, wins over Croatia and Ireland clinched a quarter-final date with England, in which the Italians dominated play but had to survive a penalty shootout to move on.
Should this match go to penalties, don’t be surprised if German keeper Manuel Neuer shoots for his country. He converted on a penalty for Bayern Munich in the shootout at the champions League final.
