German Embassy in Ukraine holding DeutschlandMobil2012 info tour

Ivano-Frankivsk, May 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine is holding the information tour DeutschlandMobil2012.

“We are coming to cities, presenting the German language and culture to people, we are trying to present music, literature, cinema to them, attempting to promote the German language,” a participant of the DeutschlandMobil2012 tour, Felix Schmidtke, told journalists in Ivano-Frankivsk on Friday.

According to him, this is the first time such a project is being implemented in Ukraine. In 2010 Germany held similar event during the World Cup in South Africa.

“We have been on the road for five days. We started in Zhytomyr on May 14. Zhytomyr was followed by Lutsk and Lviv. Yesterday we were in Uzhgorod, today we are in Ivano-Frankivsk,” project assistant at the Department of Culture of the German Embassy in Ukraine Ivanna Pekar said.

The information projects team is made up of seven people, who are traveling across Ukraine in a specially equipped bus, she said.

Pekar told that DeutschlandMobil2012 program involves interactive games for learning the German language, information stands about studying in Germany, the country’s tourism opportunities, the presentation of 100 books of lesser-known German writers, translated into the Ukrainian language, providing consultations about filing visa applications form on-line.

The information tour will end on June 3 on European Square in Kyiv in the framework of the European settlement for the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
