Gazprom: Ukraine gas ultimatum to Jun 9

Moscow, Jun 2 (AFP) Russia’s Gazprom has pushed back to
June 9 its ultimatum to Ukraine on imposing pre-payment for
gas after Kyiv paid USD 786 million in arrears, chief
executive Alexei Miller said today.
“Ukraine has paid the first instalment for gas supplies.
Today USD 786 million entered Gazprom’s account,” Miller was
quoted as saying in a company statement.
“We welcome Ukraine starting to pay back its debt and
postpone the pre-payment regime until June 9.
