Ex-Fiorentina winger hits out at former club
After leaving Fiorentina having played just three times for the club, Oleksandr Yakovenko has criticised the coaches that did not allow him chance to shine for the club.
Now plying his trade for Dynamo Kyiv, the winger was sent out on loan to both Malaga and Ado Den Haag during his time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi before terminating his contract with the Tuscan side earlier this month in order to move home.
“Now I am with a good team,” he explained to FirenzeViola.it, “where I can train, I am treated like a footballer and where I can make the best of myself.”
“I also hope the best for Fiorentina, and I encourage the fans to enjoy the teams’ games because I know that a couple of people are not the whole Fiorentina,”
He went on to explain how his spell with the Viola quickly turned from opportunity to disappointment.
“During pre-season I was one of the best [players],” he added, “and everything made me feel positive, but after that I was not given a chance to play.
“I would have understood if I had had a couple of chances and not made the most of them, but in my situation I had no chance.
“It was only the decisions of others.”
