On 16 September 2014, MEPs overwhelmingly backed an Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, following a debate on the situation in the country and general relations with Russia.
The voting session took place at the same time as the Ukrainian Parliament ratified the Agreement in Kyiv, with the vote shown live inside the chamber.
