EU companies invest about $20 b in Kyiv’s economy, says mayor
European companies have invested around $20 billion in the economy of Kyiv, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov said during the opening of Europe Day in the capital city.
“EU enterprises, organizations and companies have invested about $20 billion into the economy of Kyiv,” Popov said.
He said this was just the beginning. There will be even more interesting investment projects in cooperation with the EU, he said.
“A huge number of cultural and sporting events, which take place weekly, sometimes daily, are evidence of our broader cooperation… I’m absolutely sure that our strategic goal to become a member of the EU will be achieved soon,” the mayor said.
