Thanks to systemic reforms in Ukraine, economy became more stable over recent two years, President Viktor Yanukovych told Vice President of the World Bank Philippe Le Houerou at a meeting in Kyiv.

“We feel stable growth of the economy,” the Head of state has said. According to him, economic indexes were influenced, in particular, by the fact that Ukraine gathered last year the largest yield over all years of independence. “It is pleasant for me to note that over this year we managed to establish a business climate between the state and investors, between the state and exporters. Reforms promoted this to a great extent,” Yanukovych said. The situation with the VAT refund has also improved, which also played a significant role, he added. The power managed to initiate qualitative changes in observation of human rights and the rule of law, the judicial reform and the Criminal Procedural Code. Special attention was paid to fighting corruption in Ukraine, Yanukovych emphasized.
