Dynamo Kyiv signs Croatian defender

Zagreb Dinamo and Croatia defender Domagoj Vida on Wednesday signed a five-year contract with Dynamo Kyiv, reads a statement posted on the official Web site of the Ukrainian club.

The 23-year-old Vida was born in Osijek. He played for NK Osijek in 2006-2010. In April 2010, the player signed a contract with Germany’s Bayer. In his first season for the club he mostly played in Europa League matches, appearing in eight games.

In the 2011-2012 season, he returned home and started playing for Dinamo Zagreb, becoming a champion of Croatia and a holder of the Croatian Cup.

He also played 15 games for the national team of Croatia. He also played one match at Euro 2012.
