Rebrov dismisses Dragovic exit talk

Dynamo Kyiv boss Sergei Rebrov has dismissed speculation that Aleksandar Dragovic is set to join Manchester United.

Reports this week suggested that Dragovic was set for an imminent move to Old Trafford for a fee of €21m.

Man United were also said to be in for the defender in the summer but a switch never materialised. Rebrov rubbished the rumours, insisting that Dragovic is committed to Kyiv.

“Is Dragovic going to Manchester United? I doubt Dragovic reads those stories or that he gives any meaning to all that is written about him,” Rebrov said.

“I talk with Alex a lot. He is an absolutely decent man. Now he has a goal, he wants to play in the Champions League playoffs [against Manchester City] for this team.

“After that? Only God knows.

“I am glad that there are players who primarily want to achieve some goal, and only then, if you have decent offers, will they sit down for negotiations with the president.”

Players such as Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Watford’s Odion Ighalo have all been linked with moves to United recently but the rumours have consequently been shot down.

Dragovic is the latest player to join that list and it is not clear who exactly United are in for, if anyone at all. United are in desperate need of reinforcements as the balance of the side has been exposed as of late, most recently in the 3-3 draw against Newcastle United.
