Dynamo Kyiv fined for fans’ racist behaviour at Chelsea game

The decision came two days after the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body ordered Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv to play their next two home European games without fans due to racist behaviour and crowd disturbances caused by their supporters when they hosted Chelsea last month.

The club have also been fined £70,000 with the third match being applied as a suspended sentence for three years and will only be served should more transgressions occur.

Ukraine’s game against Spain in October was marred by racism in the stands.

If there is a repeat in the next three years, they will have to play a third game without supporters, UEFA said.

This is not the first time Dynamo has been in trouble.

The second closed-door match will be in the Champions League round of 16 or Europa League round of 32 next year.

For those offences and their crowd trouble and disorganisation during the game they were forced to close part of the stadium for their next European game, which was the quarter-final against Fiorentina.

Dynamo will play in an empty stadium against Maccabi Tel Aviv on December 9.

UEFA said Ukraine have also been fined 97,000 euros (USD 102,000) for the racist behaviour and separate charges including offensive chanting and the use of a laser pointer.
