Dutch FM Mulls Creation of Tribunal on MH17 Flight Crash Over Ukraine

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 crashed over the Donetsk region in southeastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. The Kyiv government forces and local independence supporters were fighting in the area at the time, and traded blame for the incident.

“The Prosecutor’s investigation is moving along quite actively. Based on this, we will decide in the next few months on inviting countries to help find the best mechanism for a [criminal] investigation on the national level or create a joint court with the countries,” Koenders said during a European Parliament session in Brussels.

Earlier in the day, Russia’s civil aviation regulator Rosaviatsia said that new facts obtained by Russian experts through an additional study confirm that some conclusions of the Dutch final report on the MH17 crash in Ukraine were unsubstantiated and inaccurate.
