Despite Russia’s pressure Slovakia to continue gas supplies to Ukraine
Despite Moscow’s political pressure on Slovakia, the sales of gas to Ukraine won’t be stopped, the country’s ambassador in Ukraine Yuraj Sivachek says, ZN.UA reports Nov. 4.
“Our sales are based on a solid commercial footing. So, it is difficult to break the footing as both Bratislava and Kyiv are interested in it.
I can confirm that Russia’s political pressure is rather strong and likely to get stronger. However, Slovakia will meet its obligations under the contract,” the ambassador said.
Slovakia first began the sales of gas to Ukraine on Sept. 2. Experts estimate that Slovakia can sell up to 30 bn cu. m of gas to Kyiv annually.
