Cyprus President flies to Kyiv for official visit – In
President Nicos Anastasiades on Thursday flies from Athens where he took part in a trilateral summit with Greece and Egypt to Kyiv for an official visit accompanied by a business delegation.
A number of bilateral agreements between Cyprus and Ukraine will be signed including a crucial one on updated double taxation.
“On December 11 (Friday), in Kyiv, the President of the Republic will be officially welcomed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the Presidential Palace,” an official announcement said.
“Following a private meeting, the two Presidents will preside over an expanded meeting between the delegations of the two countries,” it added.
Cyprus and Ukraine will sign bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding.
Anastasiades and Poroshenko will later visit the offices of the Ukraine Commerce and Industry Chamber where they will meet with Cypriot and Ukrainian businessmen.
Anastasiades will also meet with Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and with Speaker of the Parliament Volodymyr Groysman.
The President, who is accompanied by Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lakkotrypis and Deputy Government Spokesman Viktoras Papadopoulos, will return to Cyprus on Saturday.
