The fan camp at Trukhaniv Island, now accommodated by Sweden fans for the time of EURO 2012, will be further used by the city to hold cultural and sports events, Oleksandr Popov, the Head of Kyiv City State Administration said.
Popov added that in future the camp’s infrastructure at Trukhaniv Island will be improved.
The official said that the campsite for the Swedish fans was being completed in the last days before the arrival of visitors due to late decision on its construction – and one and half month before EURO 2012. Apart from this, the official links the force majeure, which arose with the organization of the campsite, to the lack of experience in organizing such large-scale projects.
