The Kyiv Administrative Appeal Court has found legal resolution No. 216 of the Central Election Commission dated August 8 to deny registration as MP candidates former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivschyna Party, and former Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko.

Judge Andrii Korotkykh read the court ruling.

The court denied satisfaction of the lawsuit filed on the behalf the Batkivschyna Party by Verkhovna Rada deputy Ruslan Kniazevych.

As Ukrainian News reported, the Central Election Commission on August 8 registered 210 MP candidates from the party ticket of the United Opposition and denied registration of 15 people, including Yulia Tymoshenko and Yurii Lutsenko on the ground of an article of the law on the election of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as Tymoshenko and Lutsenko serve their term in prison for committing intended crimes.
