Clashes in Kyiv claim first deaths
Azarov said Wednesday that anti-government protests had brought “terrorists” to Kyiv and pledged to punish all “criminal action” as protesters confronted police near government headquarters.
Initial reports say two of the victims killed in the protests died from gunshot wounds while another died in a fall from the top of Dynamo football stadium.
The violence comes as Ukrainian security forces started dismantling barricades at the protest camp in downtown Kyiv where demonstrators and police have been facing off for the past two nights.
Radio VR commentator Dmitry Babich joins Senior Producer Kate Zickel and says much of what the Western media is reporting on the protests is misunderstood.
