Despite early claims suggesting otherwise, Manchester City will have to be at their best to progress into the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League competition – as they’ve been drawn against a tough side in the form of Ukranian champions Dynamo Kyiv.
Manchester City supporters are crying foul after being denied the chance to watch their team in the Champions League Round of 16.
Dynamo Kyiv manager Serhiy Rebrov has brushed off the effect the Ukrainian league’s longer winter break could have on his side’s last 16 Champions League meeting with Manchester City.
Last year when I went to Stockholm I loved the idea of eating at the market. I mean a regular indoor market where people buy food. There were several small cafes and even a restaurant with tables standing right among the food stalls. I thought it was so cool to eat in this atmosphere and wondered when something like this would appear in Kyiv. And it did appear in our central Bessarabka market! A small cafe with several tables in the corner of the market.
The Gunners, who memorably clinched a place in the knock-out stages with victory at Olympiacos last week, were handed arguably the toughest task when the draw for the next round was made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
City fans are calling for Uefa to lift their ban on away fans so they can cheer their team on in Kyiv.
