BRUSSELS—Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and top European Union officials reached a tentative deal on Wednesday on Kyiv’s bid to win visa-free access to the bloc, opening the way for Brussels to back the step as early as Friday, EU officials said.

On Wednesday, the Kyiv District Administrative Court ruled for the plaintiff – the Ukranian Ministry of Justice – that had filed a lawsuit in 2014 requesting a ban on all activities of the Communist party in Ukraine. “The court has fully met the claim,” the court stated.
