Cabinet Declares March 25 Day Off In Kyiv And Region

The Cabinet of Ministers during a governmental telephone conference on March 24 produced a decision to declare March 25 a day off in Kyiv and region, reads a statement made by the Kyiv Municipal State Administration’s press service.

“Monday, March 25 is declared a day off in Kyiv and region for the public sector workers, except for medical institutions and structures engaged in the combat against consequences of foul weather. This decision has been taken today at the Kyiv Municipal State Administration’s proposition during the governmental telephone conference on the conduction of measures aimed at mitigation of aftereffects of the natural disaster in the Ukrainian provinces, affected by unprecedented snowstorms,” the statement said.

Private businesses are recommended to announce March 25 a day off in the institutions of non-state forms of ownership.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the city response centre for the liquidation of emergency aftermath is asking the Kyiv Municipal State Administration and the country’s leadership to announce March 25 a day off.

The Kyiv city administration on March 23 announced emergency situation in the capital due to snowfalls.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, 615 urban areas in 10 provinces are remaining without power supply as of 7am because of unfavourable weather conditions (heavy snowfalls, snowstorms).
