Kyiv. Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is paying an official two-day visit to Kyiv on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Bulgarian Head of State is in Ukraine at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko.
On the second day of his visit the Bulgaria President met with Bulgarian community in Ukrainian capital.
“Bulgaria will be more active in its solidarity towards the Bulgarian community in Ukraine,” Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev assured before representatives of the Bulgarian community on the second day of his visit to Ukraine, the press service of the President’s Office announced.
“Bulgarian universities will open their doors wider to the Bulgarians from Ukraine and will provide funds for high scholarships,” the Bulgarian Head of State said.
Bulgarian counterparts from Kyiv, Harkov, Bolhrad, Zaporizhia Oblast were invited to attend the meeting with the Bulgarian President.
Rosen Plevneliev noted that Bulgaria is being funding a project for equipping of a computer hall at G.S. Rakovski High School in Bolhrad.
Bulgaria and Ukraine are seeking ways to receive funds under European facilities, which to be invested in business development and infrastructure in the regions with Bulgarian minorities.
“We want you to feel that Bulgaria backs you and is open for you,” Rosen Plevneliev said.
The president outlined the necessity for easing the regime for compatriots from our communities abroad to be appointed in the sectors suffering from cadre shortage.
