Berlin expects Kyiv to renew power supply to Crimea
The suspension of electricity supply from Ukraine to Crimea should be resumed, Spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry Martin Schaefer has said.
“Attacks on the public infrastructure in Ukraine, including electricity supply to Crimea, are criminal acts. We expect responsible Ukrainian officials will comprehend them in this way, and this will be investigated,” Schaefer said on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The diplomat stressed that the political conflict should not influence the quality of life of people. The German government, according to him, expects that electricity supply to temporary occupied Crimea would be resumed, and such incidents would not take place in future.
At the same time, according to reports in the German mass media, the situation with power supply to the temporarily occupied Crimea would only lead to the escalation of situation and would only worsen already poor relationship between Kyiv and Moscow.
