Belarus President Lukashenko To Visit EURO 2012 Final In Kyiv
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will visit the final of the UEFA 2012 European Football Championship, which will be taking place in Kyiv, Belarusian Ambassador to Ukraine Valentin Velichko has announced at a press conference.
“On the first [of July] the head of state will come, will be meeting with [President of Ukraine] Viktor Fedorovich [Yanukovych],” he said.
Velichko underlines, the main purpose of the visit is visiting the championship final.
The Belarusian party meanwhile has requested a meeting with Yanukovych and hopes it will take place despite heads of many other states will be visiting the championship.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Yanukovych supposes the conduction of the 2012 European Football Championship final in Ukraine is a historical event.
