Belarus alarmed by escalation reports from Kyiv
MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Reports about the aggravating situation in Kyiv’s center on 18 February are alarming, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, as he commented on the latest events in Ukraine.
“Belarus cannot but worry about the events going on in neighboring Ukraine. Long-standing ties of friendship connect Belarus and Ukraine. The Belarusian side received reports about the aggravation of the situation in the center of Kyiv on 18 February with alarm. We believe that radical, manifestly unlawful actions are inadmissible for resolving internal political disagreements,” the comment reads.
“We are still in favor of settling the political crisis in Ukraine via a civilized dialogue, without any external interference while observing the supremacy of the law. We hope the situation in the country will be stabilized as fast as possible and measured decisions will be made in interests of the Ukrainian nation,” noted Dmitry Mironchik.
