Batkivschyna calls on Kyiv residents to join rally near Verkhovna Rada on April 2

The Batkivschyna parliamentary faction has called on Kyiv residents to come to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, on April 2 in order to protect their right to elect the municipal authorities.

“Batkivschyna is calling on Kyiv residents to make the Regions Party vote for scheduling elections in the capital for June 2,” Batkivschyna MP Yuriy Odarchenko said on Channel 5.

“We agreed to hold second reading [on the draft instruction to schedule the elections of Kyiv mayor and deputies of Kyiv City Council], as we did not have the majority to schedule the elections for June 2, and we – the Batkivschyna faction – want to gather people near the Verkhovna Rada on April 2 in order to push the Regions Party,” Odarchenko said.
