Baba Rahman returns to Chelsea side in Maccabi Tel Aviv drubbing

Chelsea won a 4-nil victory against Maccabi Tel-Aviv that helped their Champions League ambitions and provided a two game win streak for the beleaguered London side.

Chelsea and Porto, which lost to Dynamo Kyiv 2-1, were tied atop the group on 10 points, two more than Kyiv.

But the match was not without incident, as Mourinho complained strongly about the state of the playing surface and was involved in a confrontation with one of his own players as the teams went in at half-time.

“I need a calculator”, Mourinho continued.

“But I don’t believe too much that he can play (against Spurs). He reacted too. At half-time in the dressing room [there were] a few kisses and a few cuddles”.

Diego Costa’s second half strike was enough to defeat Norwich 1-0 as the defending champions finally had something to celebrate after an appalling start to the season. If we play like we have been doing, we can win” Mourinho told reporters, before adding “It’s simple.

“I did the change because I have Pedro”, Mourinho said.

The hosts hopes of getting anything out of the game dwindled when, just before the break, ex-Chelsea and Man City defender Tal Ben Haim saw red for a horror lunge on Costa.

“We conceded 11 goals and scored only one”.

“Everything is open for the last match and in this moment we are in a good position”.

“In the second we slept a bit for the first 15-20 minutes waiting for the second goal to come and only when we were again in danger did we react well”. “I even have a player that tomorrow his wife can have a baby and he is here to play because he knows how important it is for me”. “Let’s see match after match what we think is the best for him it depends on what we want for the game”. “No problem”, said Mourinho.

And the manager expressed his concern that the club captain could sit out Sunday’s noon kick off at White Hart Lane.
