Azerbaijani club to join tournament after Chechnya’s first president
FC Neftchi from Baku also received an invitation for the event. Besides the Baku club, Russian club Terek Grozni, Ukrainian Mettalist Kharkov, Obolon Kyiv, Polish Polonya Varshava, Romanian Rapid Bukharest, Uzbek Pakhtakor and Chinese ‘Beijing’ will participate at the tournament.
Thus, four teams will fight in 2 groups. The groups will be known after draws on 27 January. Each 1st place team will qualify to the final round. The final match will be held at Mardan stadium of FC Antalyaspor. The prize is $170,000. It’s expected that Ahmad Kadyrov’s son, current president of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov will watch the tournament. Italian famous referee Pierluigi Collina and Roberto Rosetti will be between honorable guests. The tournament starts on 28 January and finishes on 3 February.
