The agreement will be signed during the World Economic Forum in Davos on 25-26 January, the head of Ukraine’s State Agency for Management of National Projects, Vladislav Kaskiv, said in Kyiv on Wednesday, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.

He said that agreements might also be signed with other market players on supplies of LNG to the Ukrainian terminal.

Kaskiv told journalists that the agreement with Azerbaijan would envisage the supplies of 2bn cubic metres of gas in 2014 and 5bn cubic metres in 2015.

Azerbaijan and Ukraine initialled a preliminary accord on the deal in September 2011.

Spanish company Socoin is to complete work on a feasibility study for the construction of an LNG terminal on Ukraine’s Black Sea shore at the end of January.

Kaskiv said that the estimated cost of construction of the facility is $1bn, while the projected capacity of the terminal will be 10bn cubic metres of gas per year. Construction will be divided into two phases.
