Appeal Court Finds Bakulin’s Arrest Legal
Kyiv Court of Appeals has upheld the decision of the court of primary jurisdiction on the preventive measures against former Board Chairman of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company Yevhen Bakulin, the judge panel said in the ruling.
In addition, the Appeal Court has not changed the amount of the bail and left it at UAH 1.5 billion.
Thus, the court dismissed the petition appeal lodged by the defendant’s defense attorneys and upheld Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court’s decision.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the attorneys for Yevhen Bakulin, the former chairman of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company’s board of directors, had appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office for investigating Internal Minister Arsen Avakov’s pressure on the court.
