APNewsBreak: Charity says they will refuse donations from Jeffrey Dahmer tour in Milwaukee
By The Associated Press
MILWAUKEE (AP) ‘ A business offering walking tours of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s haunts says it wants to donate some proceeds to a charity that supports parents of murder victims, but that group wants no part of it.
Nancy Ruhe (ROO-ee), executive director of the National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that even though donations are down due to the economy they would never accept money made off the death of a murder victim.
Amanda Morden, a spokeswoman for tour-organizer Bam Marketing and Media, said the amount depended on how successful the tours were, but she suspected it could be up to 20 percent of annual profits from the Dahmer tour.
The tours started Saturday, with family members and other protesters outnumbering the tour’s first participants.
