The versatile 25-year-old, who spent last term on loan at Everton, is available on a free transfer having left Real Madrid during the off-season after his contract had expired.
And Drenthe is attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe after his representative, Antonio Salerno, confirmed he had made contact with Italian giants Inter Milan and Turkish champions Galatasaray, amongst others.
Salerno told Ilsussidiario: “This is the moment we are evaluating the offers. There have been many calls and now is the moment to decide.
“I had contact with many Italian clubs, such as Inter, Napoli, Genoa and Torino. There are also offers from Russia and Turkey, particularly Galatasaray.”
However, another of Drenthe’s agents, Serkan Kulup, claims Premier League champions City are heading the chase for the 25-year-old, while Dynamo Kyiv and Cimbom remain strong contenders as the Netherlands international targets a club that can offer him Champions League football.
“We didn’t expect to be called by Manchester City and West Ham, but they asked me for information on Royston and his wage demands,” Kulup told Goal.com Holland.
“There are also Serie A clubs on him, not to mention Turkish sides and Dynamo Kyiv. We certainly cannot complain, but the important thing is that Royston gets back to the playing field.
“He would prefer to play for a club in the Champions League, so Manchester City, Dynamo Kyiv and a big Turkish side are the favourites at the moment.”
